Hello

I'm Julia Casey, a communications leader who tackles cause-related challenges to help nonprofits raise their profile and fulfill their missions.

I focus on shaping audience beliefs and behaviors through integrated communications to help social good organizations strengthen relationships with their customers, employees, donors and communities.

I have twenty-five years of communications experience in insurance, higher education and nonprofits, which I bring to each conversation and challenge.

To keep my skills up-to-date, I recently completed a graduate program in Interactive Communications & Media from Quinnipiac University.

So now you know a bit about me, please reach out if you are a nonprofit in need of a communications consult or have a specific project to discuss.

Services

My approach is to understand and distill your nonprofit's special sauce and break that down into a tailored communication strategy and/or specific creative outputs.

Communication Strategy

Evaluating your nonprofit's greatest needs and developing customized solutions to help create the desired awareness and perceptions.

Content Development

Sometimes you just need to fill a gap; it could be developing a presentation, brochures or a content plan for social media or a blog.

Feedback & Tracking

Gathering feedback from target audiences to assess perceptions and points of misunderstanding creates more impactful messages.

LinkedIn Series: AI's Potential for Nonprofits

During the Summer of 2024, I experimented with various Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to understand what it can do, with a specific interest in its application for nonprofit organizations. I researched and wrote a three-part LinkedIn Series with the aspiration to provide nonprofit leaders and funders a jump start to use AI for their mission-critical work.

1

AI Policy for Nonprofits

As more individuals and organizations discover AI's potential, nonprofits have much to gain and consider to ensure safe and ethical AI implementation.

2

How Nonprofits Can Manage Donors with AI

People give to nonprofits for a host of reasons, especially a deep belief in an organization's mission. Being donor-centric shifts the focus from raising dollars to building relationships, and AI can help to do this with greater precision.

3

Accelerating Nonprofit Communications with AI

All nonprofits generate fundraising appeals and a website, so this week's AI focus is experimenting with text and supporting images for two very real potential scenarios: a fundraising appeal letter and a website story.
